The Codeathon 2024, hosted by WPU's IT Forum and proudly sponsored by Vertex IT Solutions, Pune, was a grand display of technological creativity and problem-solving prowess. This event brought together some of the brightest minds in the tech community, who showcased their skills through a range of innovative projects. Here is an in-depth look at the standout projects from each track:

Web Development

The Web Development track was designed to challenge participants to create dynamic and functional web applications that address practical problems. This track emphasized user interface design, backend integration, and innovative web-based solutions.

Smart Irrigation System

The winning project in this track, the Smart Irrigation System, aimed to revolutionize agricultural practices by utilizing advanced web technologies to manage irrigation systems. This project integrates real-time weather data and soil moisture sensors to automate watering schedules, significantly improving water efficiency and crop yield. The team behind this innovative solution included Jinal Sureshchandra Laddha, Sayali Tarare, Kalyani Patil, Om Kokane, and Anish Gujrathi, who worked collaboratively to develop a user-friendly and effective irrigation tool.

BuyIT

Runner-Up in this track, BuyIT is a comprehensive e-commerce platform that enhances the online shopping experience. The platform features a sleek design, advanced search functionalities, and secure payment systems to cater to diverse customer needs. The development team, consisting of Yogesh Sananse, Siddhi Nalawade, Akansha Palange, Yuthika Ovhal, and Priyanka Nalawade, focused on creating an intuitive interface and robust backend to support seamless transactions and customer engagement.

Application Development

The Application Development track was dedicated to crafting applications that address specific user needs, whether through mobile apps or desktop software. Participants were expected to innovate and deliver functional applications with a clear user-centric focus.

Dazzle Dating App

The winning project, Dazzle Dating App, offers a sophisticated approach to online dating by using advanced algorithms to match users based on their preferences and interests. The app also incorporates features such as video profiles and secure messaging, aiming to enhance user interaction and engagement. The talented team behind this project included Gaurav Masand, Jayesh Patil, Chinmay Karodpati, Suraj Satpute, Sanjeet Patil, Tejas Belhekar, and Jay Deore, who combined their expertise to build a cutting-edge dating application.

WorkWizards

The Runner-Up, WorkWizards, is a productivity application designed to streamline workflow and task management. It features tools for project tracking, team collaboration, and deadline management. The development team, including Kanchan Kolte, Jidnya Mahajan, Vishal Mehetre, Sanket Aher, Anshu Rathore, Divita Adwalkar, Nisha Pardeshi, Sanket Zambare, Dhruvi Wadhvana, and Jatin Kaushik, focused on creating an application that enhances productivity through effective management and collaboration tools.

Data Visualization

The Data Visualization track encouraged participants to create visual representations of complex data to facilitate better understanding and decision-making. Projects in this track focused on making data accessible and actionable through innovative visual tools.

Alzheimer Patient Tracking

The winner in this track, Alzheimer Patient Tracking, developed a visualization tool to monitor and analyze data related to Alzheimer’s patients. This tool uses interactive charts and graphs to provide insights into patient progress and treatment efficacy, aiding caregivers and medical professionals. The team members, Abhishek Tiwari, Vaishali Jain, Sarang Dixit, Ninad Amone, and Omkar Botre, created a powerful tool that enhances the management of Alzheimer’s care through data-driven insights.

Growth Gaze Smart Agriculture

The Runner-Up, Growth Gaze Smart Agriculture, developed a data visualization platform that integrates various agricultural data sources. The platform provides valuable insights into crop health, soil conditions, and weather patterns, supporting farmers in making informed decisions. The team, including Yogita Melwani, Vaishali Jain, Kalpesh Rajpurohit, Sarang Dixit, Soumitra Thite, Anisha Dhumal, Ninad Amone, and Omkar Botre, successfully combined data visualization with practical agricultural applications.

AI/ML

The AI/ML track focused on leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to tackle challenging problems and enhance existing systems. Projects in this track explored a wide range of AI applications, from predictive analytics to intelligent automation.

Stress Detection using EEG

The winning project, Stress Detection using EEG, developed an advanced system to monitor and analyze brainwave patterns to assess stress levels. Utilizing machine learning algorithms, the system provides actionable insights into an individual's mental health, helping users manage stress more effectively. The team, comprising Abhishek Tiwari, Dev Vrat Soni, Vivek Gohel, Nilesh Paliwal, Anshu Rathore, Divita Adwalkar, Nisha Pardeshi, Sanket Zambare, and Dhruvi Wadhvana, showcased their expertise in AI and mental health with this innovative project.

Light Crafters (Smart Traffic Signal)

The Runner-Up, Light Crafters, introduced a smart traffic signal system that employs AI to optimize traffic flow based on real-time data. The system adjusts signal timings to match current traffic conditions, enhancing road safety and reducing congestion. The development team, including Jignesh Mokariya, Dev Vrat Soni, Vivek Gohel, Nilesh Paliwal, Anshu Rathore, Divita Adwalkar, Nisha Pardeshi, Sanket Zambare, Dhruvi Wadhwana, and Jatin Kaushik, successfully integrated AI technology into urban traffic management solutions.

Robotics & IoT
